Which Share-A-Cart Extension Is Right for You?
Shared on 12 July 2024, by Julie
Share-A-Cart has different kinds of plugins for different browsers, which begs the question: which is right for you? We break down the differences below, and present examples that can help you decide which one to install.
Share-A-Cart Multi-Store Plugin
This is the most versatile of the plugins, and offers support for more than 150 different stores online. The multi-store plugin can be installed on multiple browsers, including:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Firefox
- Apple Safari
Who is the multi-store plugin ideal for? Everyone! If you shop online and want to share your carts from various supported stores with others, this is the way to go. You can easily bounce from store to store building carts and sharing them with friends and family with just one single plugin.
Share-A-Cart Individual Plugins
Share-A-Cart also offers a handful of plugins for individual stores, as well. Choose from the following if you only want Share-A-Cart for one particular store:
- Amazon
- Walmart
- Instacart
- AliExpress
Who are the individual store plugins ideal for? There are a few different scenarios where the individual store plugins may serve users better than the multi-store plugin. The individual plugins are available on the browsers Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox.
Say you’re in charge of purchasing for your office and your company orders office supplies exclusively from Amazon. In that case, you may only need the Amazon plugin for your office browser (though we encourage you to embrace Share-A-Cart for personal use as well!). That way, you can have your colleagues create their own carts and send you what they need from Amazon so that you can consolidate if you’re able and place orders for them. This cuts out the work of trying to reimburse colleagues for unnecessary expense reports since you’re able to buy them what they need.
Another popular option would be for teachers who want parents to know exactly what kind of supplies their kids will need for their classroom during the school year. A teacher can create a cart of the supplies they prefer students to have at Walmart, and then send that to all the parents on their list. Then the parents can easily add the carts to their own cart, adjust if needed, and buy exactly what the teacher prefers. This takes the guesswork out of buying school supplies and also ensures kids are ready for their first day of a new school year right out of the gate.
Individual store plugins can also be useful for personal shoppers, too. Picture two roommates or a couple building an Instacart cart together for the latest round of groceries. Rather than having to ask what each other needs or wants, they can simply build their carts separately, then just merge them together into one order by receiving the other’s cart.
Wishlist-To-Cart for Amazon
Share-A-Cart offers one other individual plugin which is the Wishlist-to-Cart for Amazon. The entire purpose is to easily and quickly add items from your Amazon wishlists to a cart. Like the other individual plugins, this one is available on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox.
Who is the Wishlist-to-Cart ideal for? Hardcore Amazon shoppers, of course! Especially the ones who like to create wishlists that are essentially shopping lists for various trips – they know they want to buy the items, but they aren’t sure when. Maybe it’s a wishlist for Prime Day or Black Friday, or maybe it’s just a running wishlist for stock-up shopping, but either way, the Wishlist-to-Cart ensures you can quickly add a whole wishlist to your cart, whether you made it or not.
Now that you know the different plugins and who can benefit most from using them, it’s time to install one and give it a try!
